AGNES Angus Ellington Hacket is our Hacket family connection and she was born 29 December 1903.

Agnes, an 'aerated water worker' married Albert Edward Stuart Reid and together they had nine children.

Agnes' father was John Hacket, (married to Elizabeth Charlotte Anderson Duncan) born 7 December 1876 in Aberdeen. He was a Tinsmith or Tin Case Maker.

His father, also John Hacket was a Marine Stoker. Sadly, he was lost in the winter of 1897 aboard the "SS State of Georgia" the story of which is told on these pages.

His father, also John Hacket, was born in Aberdeen in 1813. He was a Tanner or Skinner and his wife was called Mary Angus. For many years they ran their tannery business in Gilcomston, Aberdeen.

He was a child of (yes you've guessed it) John Hacket and his wife Elizabeth Campbell Thomson.
